We just had chicks hatch in our class. Out of 12 eggs we had 11 hatch. One of the chickens died on the second day. We buried it in the front of the school in the garden. The egg that did not hatch we cracked open and saw that he had almost completed the developmental cycle before he died.
Thank you to my wonderful neighbor who was able to pick up our eggs from Thanksgiving Point and bring them to our class.

On the second day three chicks had hatched.

We spent the afternoon reading picture books to the kindergarteners. They loved hearing the stories and looking at the puppets. We did a great job.

A great big thank you to our spelling test mom and grandma. Every week for nine months they came to our class and helped give spelling tests and grade the test. They are awesome!
The chicks are adorable! They are so fluffly!

Our lucky students who got to take home the chicks are the envy of the classroom!
